1998's KOF ported to the Playstation. This year the game lets go of any plot line whatsoever and instead seems to take place in a different dimension providing more in the way of gameplay at the expense of any sort of story to hold everything up (much like in Street Fighter Alpha 3). The character rooster has been expanded to a whooping 38 characters with several changes to most returning characters and a lot of old faces resurrected from previous tournaments like Vice and Mature, Heidern, the USA team, and even Rugal! the boss from the first two KOFs. Uses the same gameplay systems of the '97 KOF and includes several bonuses for the PSX like art galleries, sound tests, plus the usual single, team, vs, survival, etc. game modes.
